Family time after Joshua's Baptism

After Joshua's Baptism we went to Grandma Dana & Grandpa Bruce's house for lunch and to spend time together. Here's some pictures from all the fun!

The BIG sheep that Joshua got from Grandma Linda & Grandpa Gary. He seemed to like it, but Duke isn't so sure...

Here's the best picture we have of his "fancy" outfit he wore for his baptism. He looks like such a big boy! (His shoes are tie shoes!)

We were so glad to share this day with so many family members! Joshua is blessed to have so many people that love him!!

Joshua's Baptism

 He saved us,

not because of the good things we did,

but because of his mercy.

He washed away our sins and gave

us a new life through the Holy Spirit.

He generously poured out the Spirit upon us

because of what Jesus Christ our Savior did.

He declared us not guilty because of his great kindness.

And now we know that we will inherit eternal life. ~Titus 3:5-7

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call." ~Acts 2:38-39

Bumbo, Jumper and Cereal

Joshua like sitting up like a big boy now. Here's a couple of pictures from him playing at the shop in his bumbo chair. He's all smiles!

Joshua has a new jumper. I was looking for something different then he plays in at the shop and at Grandma & Grandpa's house. This is the same one that Andrea and David got for Lil David. They highly recommened it, so we thought we'd give it a try.

This next picture worries me a bit. Look at that sly smile. Doesn't he look like trouble?

So we decided to try cereal tonight before bed. The only real problem we had was I didn't realize how fast Joshua wanted it in his mouth. I thought he'd have to learn to take it in and swallow it. Apparently, that didn't take long or that wasn't true. Once I realized he liked it I gave it to him faster and he was much happier!

Daddy says he is going to teach Joshua about heartache early in life...

4 month check up

Today Joshua had his 4 month check up. He's doing wonderful. He really put on a show for the doctor and the nurses. He smile, laughed, “talked” and reached out and grabbed anything he could get a hold of. I think he liked having a new audience. The doctor said Joshua is doing great developmentally and physically.


Joshua’s measurements are: 15.1 pounds (I don’t think this is accurate – his appointment got pushed back because of an emergency in the office so he had just had a 6 ounce bottle right before he got weighed). He’s 25 inches long & his head is 43.5. His height & weight are in the 50th percentile and he’s head is in the 75th. ~At 2 months he was 11.11 pounds & 23.5 inches long~ Looks like he’s going into his head size ~ at 2 months his was in the 90th percentile.

JCS got 3 shots today ~mommy was on her own with him & doesn’t like shots herself~ but he did great! Cried when he got the shots, but was happy once I picked him up & he had green bear.

The doctor gave us the go ahead to start cereal whenever we’d like to. We aren’t in a big rush to start. She said by his 6 month appointment (his next appointment) he should be eating yellow veggies & soft fruits.

We have an amazing little boy that we are so blessed to have. We are so thankful that he is happy and healthy!!

Flowers, flowers, flowers...

Today at the shop we had a request for a horseshoe shaped standing spray for a funeral. I took some pictures along the way to show the process.

We started out with a square block of oasis. We made a pattern on the oasis for the shape of the horseshoe.

Next I cut out the oasis into the horseshoe shape. In the picture below, the horseshoe shape still has the square foam backing. I cut that out next.

The big challenge was getting the horseshoe to hang on a stand. I ended up drilling screws into the horseshoe, then tying the horseshoe to the stand with wire.

You didn't think I used a drill and screws in flower arranging did you?

 ~This wasn't the first time, and I'm sure it won't be the last time I use power tools when arranging!~

Just thought I'd throw a few old pictures up of other "special" flower arrangements I've done.

Bob is made of all flower except his eye lashes, arms, legs and smile. Those came from a balloon. 

This flower puppy I made for Dad's boss. If I remember correctly, it was for his wife's birthday.

This is a Notre Dame Casket Spray. It was made the same way as the horseshoe.

You might be wondering why I'd made a Notre Dame arrangement, being the big Boilermaker I am. This is how I looked at it ~ it was a challange (which I love) and I don't mind taking a Domer's money!!

Okay, so that's a little about the flower shop.

 I promise I'll go back to putting pictures of Joshua up now!  :)

This isn't from Easter, but I wanted to show how long he is getting! Joshua has his 4 month appointment on April 13th, so we will get him weighed and measured then.
