Joshua's First Hair Cut

I asked my Grandma Evelyn, former beautician, if she would give Joshua his first haircut and she more than happy to cut it!!

Grandma came out with a box of all of her "hair stuff" and got right to work.

This is when we figured out that a little white milk cut with a bit of chocolate milk was the key to this haircut thing!
(He only gets chocolate milk at Grandma Dana & Grandpa Bruce's house, and now Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Pershing's house)

He really did well. He was more curious then anything. He wanted to know what Great Grandma was doing back there!

Valentine's Day 2011

This was a good Valentine's Day. I think the only way it could have been better is if I'd had more designers. I'm still very impressed with what we got made and delivered!  Thanks so much for all the family and friends that helped! I couldn't do it without you guys!

The big walk in cooler with all the roses cleaned. This was a few days before Valentine's day.

This is my wedding room, well it is normally. For Valentine's Day (& mother's day) we take everything out and turn it into a large cooler. If you saw my facebook post asking to borrow a window air conditioner, this is why.

Even Joshua's crib was used to hold balloon orders. Joshua spent the week with lots of wonderful people. We feel so blessed to have so many people willing to help us watch him when it's too crazy to have him in the shop.

My designers hard at work. Andie (Andrea Rowe, who is mommy to Little David) is on the far right of the picture. Taia is in the middle and Grandma Dana is on the far left. Grandma Dana learned how to put greens in the vases this year and it was a BIG help!!

These next pictures were taken before we left Sunday night (the 13th). I don't think in my 17 years we've ever been this prepared for opening on Valentine's morning. Again, all of my help was amazing and worked so very hard for me. I love & appreciate you all!

Valentine's Day when we opened we had 150 orders made and ready to be delivered. We had 6 trucks with a driver & runner ready to make those deliveries. By the end of the day, we had delivered 238.  Some quick math will tell you that's 88 more then we started the day with. I am truly amazed that we got that accomplished with 2 designers & mom greening vases. That's 88 deliveries done plus all the phone calls and walk in customers we had too. Wow, I'm tired again just thinking about it! I am very pleased. I really don't think we could have done better!

As I've said previously, so many people help me and it's so much appreciated!

The long list of helpers starts with my sister who took 4 days of her vacation to help me. Mom & Dad both took Friday & Monday off and were around all weekend. Uncle Tim & Aunt Brenda helped all weekend & on Vday. Andie & Taia that spent their whole weekend cranking out orders. Jim, who was a great single parent all week/weekend & delivered too.  Nate, Brittany, Chris, Marilyn, Tom, Karen & Lisa who all worked on Monday. Last but not least all of the people that helped take care of Joshua!

Joshua *LOVES* buttons, so a calculator is really cool for him to play with. Auntie mentioned something about him being an accountant, but we'll just have to wait and see about that!

Start 'em young, right?

He picked up the broom and moved it like he was sweeping, giggling the whole time. Later he laid the broom down and to me it looked like he was practicing stepping over the handle.  The whole thing was fun to watch.

Joshua has started to climb. I came around the corner and found him just sitting on the box of vases. Pretty cute!

What? I'm not doing anything...

Do you see him? Yup, that Joshua in the cabinet pushing all of mommy's delivery boxed out. Isn't he helpful?

Playing, playing, playing...

Daddy & I feel this isn't the best use for this play table, so we won't be climbing or standing on it anymore.

I love the spare paci in his left hand in case he can't find the one in his mouth!

All the playing wears a boy out for sure!

* S N O W*                    Joshua is always watching Daddy.

Duke celebrated his 6th birthday this week. He got a new toy, a new collar & a McDonald's hamburger because Jim said that is what he wanted.  Duke & Joshua are really starting to play together. It's very cute to watch their love grow. Duke's new toy is plush in the middle & a loop of rope on both ends. Joshua will hold on the rope part, but Duke can easily pull him down.

Lock down. All wheels must be locked at all times, according to Joshua. Jim & I had been blaming Duke for the wheels being locked. (mainly because he's always around his chair jumping and trying to find food). One night when we were getting dinner ready I looked up and noticed Joshua sitting at the base of his highchair, locking each wheel. Mystery solved.

Joshua had RSV.  This is a picture of daddy giving him a breathing treatment. Joshua did a lot better job when daddy did the treatments. Could be all the variations of the nursery rhymes that daddy makes up. 

The poor little guy struggled to breath, eat & sleep. We feel very very fortunate that he would eat (drink really) enough that he didn't have to go to the hospital. We know of 5+ families that their little ones all ending up with a hospital stay.

Joshua is feeling much much better. As Grandma Dana said that mischievous sparkle is back in his eyes!
