Ryan & Heather's colors were red and black. They chose a beautiful mix of flowers for me to work with!
This is one of the roses that Heather chose. It's call Red Intuition and it was gorgeous. I'm not much for roses, and especially not red ones, but this was very inspiring to me!

So here is where I should pause and explain why there is a 4 hour pause in pictures. Let's back up to early Saturday morning driving to Ft. Wayne for the wedding. I was driving and my left eye started watering. Eventually along the 2.5 hour drive it began to hurt and I realized my contacts needed to come out. The pain increased as time went by. By the time they were doing pictures before the wedding, my eye was swollen, red, blood shot and very painful. Brad - one of the groomsmen had eye drops, that helped for a few minuets. My family (sister, mom & dad) were about to the church when I looked at my eye in the mirror and realized I had a big issue. My sister and mom confirmed that with one look at my eye. When Jim & Joshua came (they were at Grandma & Grandpa Stephens' house) they brought me some eye drops. That took the red and seemed to help...for about 15 minuets. I made it through the ceremony, but I needed to see a doctor. My amazing family once again figured out how to take care of our son, get flowers where they needed to be, people where they needed to be and get a vehicle for Jim & I to go find a doctor. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We found an urgent care place that was open. I was very fortunate that they urgent care doctor knew enough to say "I don't know what to do with you, but you have an ulcer on your retina and here's the plan of what we do next". I needed to see an opthamologist, but he couldn't see me till Sunday morning. He did prescribe a drop and an ointment that would help till I saw him. One drop of the antibiotic and I felt like I was going to live. (okay - so there wasn't a chance of me dying, but it hurt a lot and was scary so I was very relieved). We went to the reception to pick up Joshua and see how everyone else was doing. (I'll finish the eye story later)

We got to the reception just as Ryan & Aunt Brenda were dancing! Loved it!

The best part about the wedding being in Ft. Wayne is that we didn't have to stay at a hotel, we got to stay at Grandma & Grandpa Stephen's house!
Sunday Jim took me to the opthamologist in Ft. Wayne. He was a very nice man to explained in detail what was going on with my eye. I have an open sore (ulcer) and bacteria had gotten in it. I have a white spot on m When he had me do the eye chart, my left eye (bad eye) was 4 lines behind my right eye with my glasses on my retina that will always be there ~ it will be a scar. ( if it wasn't so scary it would be pretty fascinating to know more about all of this) He said we were doing the right things with the drops and to keep on doing them. It was just going to take time to heal. If it got worse or anything, I was to contact my regular eye doctor. Monday night my vision became cloudy and my eye more painful then it had been. Tuesday I saw my regular eye doctor here in Lafayette and my vision had gotten worse. I was at 35% vision on my left eye. The doctor added a steroid drop. On Friday my vision had improved to 75% & my eye is doing much better! I have to use the steroid drop till Thursday but I can try my contact on Friday!! The scar will always be on my eye, but the doc said Friday he expects my vision to come back completely!!
Again, a big thanks to my family that helped me get to the doctor on Saturday, the urgent care doctor that knew he didn't know what to do with me, Jim ~ who took good care of me & Grandma & Grandpa Stephens for watching Joshua on Sunday so we could meet with the opthamologist!
